Marines debark a Landing Craft Utility (LCU)

111121-N-KA046-059 ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 21, 2011) Marines from the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU) debark a landing craft utility (LCU) assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 2 in the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41). Whidbey Island is deployed as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
